With the release of version 1.2, manubes receives multiple new features that take the management of production data to a new level.

In addition to the introduction of the new AI chat assistant, you are now able to import tables from SQL databases into the manubes data model structure. Furthermore, the customization of elements in the Page Designer has been simplified and expanded with the option to link style settings to central data sources.

This post contains a detailed overview of the new features in manubes 1.2.

All the new features are available within the free test environment.

AI-based chat assistant for production

With the release of version 1.2, manubes receives a chat assistant that is capable of answering detailed questions related to production data stored within manubes.

The manubes Chat Assistant utilizes natural language processing to analyze existing data models and provides detailed information about orders, materials, disruptions and many other processes, events and ressources in production.

Some example questions are listed below:

  • Is a machine occupied during a certain period?
  • Have malfunctions occurred in a certain area?
  • What is the stock of a particular raw material?
  • List all production orders for machine A in period B.

The chat assistant only analyzes the data models that the current user has access to. It therefore integrates seamlessly into the manubes authorization concept.

When using the new AI assistant, users can choose between two models:

Lite: More generic answers, lower ressource utilization

Pro: More precise answers, higher ressource utilization

The chat assistant can be used as an overlay or pinned to the side area so that it is always accessible while working with manubes.

Import of SQL database tables

With the help of specialized Edge Connectors, selected data from MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server databases can be made available in manubes to be processed as part of visualizations or workflows.

Version 1.2 adds the option to import tables from connected SQL databases into the manubes data model structure with just two clicks.

To enable this, we added a new tab called “External data sources” in the editing view of a data model. The tab shows all the connected SQL databases. Users can choose the tables they want to import which will then be immediately available as tables in the active data model. Relationships between imported tables will be kept.

Tables imported from SQL databases can be utilized the same way as other tables within a manubes data model.

New options in the Page Designer

The manubes Page Designer allows users to visualize data (including process parameters and production metrics) as part of dynamic real-time visualizations. Numerous display options are available in manubes: From simple data tables and labels to gauge controls and time series charts with Gantt status display. Created pages can be enriched with images and explanations, as well as interactive elements such as buttons or forms, creating easy-to-use interfaces for production control.

Individual style settings such as color, background image or font size can be adjusted for each individual page element. Starting from manubes 1.2, all design configurations can be made in the “Style” tab of an element. This replaces the previous CSS expert settings with a more user-friendly option for customizing the page design.

Another new feature in version 1.2 is the ability to link design settings to data sources. This way, images, colors and other assets can be stored centrally and used by several pages. When the data source is changed, all page elements whose design is linked to the data source are also updated.
